Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall

Thinking I might drop off the facebook map for a bit, just once this year's labs are done. It's a waste of time and there's something more exciting about updating a blog than updating a status. Just a thought.

Save the World

Have been up for 40 minutes- it's 8:11 am- and in the past two hours I have received a textual reminder of "4 weeks", enjoyed some mighty tasty Australian yoghurt, found out my gpa is boosted to a 3.43 :), and had a short conversation with mother.
Had three days of class this week, and so far things are going well. No one is at each others throats yet so I think we'll survive. Have a 4 page rough draft due thursday, along with a whole project for this baking lab, fun stuff not. 4 weeks from today I will be on a plane headed to an eventual destination of Alpena, and from there Barakel :D
Got Swedish House Mafia from Target last night, love their beat and think I found a new workout/trip home cd. The springy weather is to continue over the weekend so that is a bonus.
Have academics next term, that means skirts and cute outfits as much as I can muster them!!

Don't You Worry Child

It's a beautiful sunny spring day here in Denver. Yes, sunny and spring type weather at the end of January in Colorado!
Walking back from class, I realized two things-
1.) People are swearing more
2.) Reading levels are down
3.) As a result of low reading levels, people are choosing words that are easy to say, have multiple "uses," and just slip.
What is this world coming to?
Our hall is having a "sex week" first week of february. Sorry, but by college shouldn't we all know about the birds and the bees? Could the talk be more about abstinence, protection if you do, and just overall talking about the subject. Once again, what is this world coming to?
Started new class with an old chef, things are going well and all should be well in the process. Got an "A" in my cakes class. Good week so far, with only one day left of labs because we had monday off for Martin Luther King.

Stubborn Love

Changing out laundry, and this guy is talking with his friend about how he p'oed a girl, he was "sorry" and was drunk, and how he was gonna go have sex with this one girl in another hall, and he doesn't even know her name. PATHETIC!! Why would you do something when you don't even know her name, obviously you're not in a committed relationship. Two nitches that I despise about secular university. People getting drunk and getting a girl mad, then going to do the nastry when you don't even know the person.
My rant for today.

Come Thou Fount

What a day, what a week, what a week to come, and what a month to follow.
Day: Had work this morning for 6.5 hours, and it went quite well except I really messed up an order, or two, and some controversy between employee and the assisstant manager, but my goal is to not get involved with that sort of thing. Went for a good 4 mile bike ride, at least, and now just finished Dark Knight Rises and working on a hat.
Week: Four day weekend, and friday and today it was like spring so good start to that. Cakes class is/went well, the practical is on tuesday. We're supposed to decorate a cake with buttercream roses and such. Except for maybe one time of practice , I have never done stuff like this before. Pretty happy with it :)            

 

Week to come: Practical on tuesday for cakes, and we have ten minutes to make a mocha buttercream torte, hahahahaha, funny chef. The other part is a birthday cake, which is what the flowers are for. New class on wednesday, new chef well not really, had her for first two labs last term, and two people in my group that I don't particularly care for.
Month to follow: Chocolates and Confections for my last set of labs for this year, which I'm looking forward to that one alot, what girl doesn't love chocolate? :) Following that is Spring Break, of which I am flying into DTW, then 4 hour layover, then APN and Barakel for the weekend :D Chilling at home for a long week, then back to school for the final term of this year.

Let's see, sent in my Barakel application over Christmas, I think, talked with mom few days ago. She talked with the cook on WS, and he told her that I was pretty much in the program, the interview was just a formality, and I worked with the other girl who would be doing the other side of camp, so it'll be a great summer if all works out :) Of course, I will do a little jig of joy when I get that letter, hopefully accepted and I get to work at on of my favorite places on earth, and fulfill a graduation requirement, two birds with one stone baby :)

Kinda sad I'm not home for the auto show, maybe next year. So, that's the past few weeks in a nutshell. the next few will be even more exciting I'm sure :) 

 

Goodbye

New hair, new ipod regretably (sp?), new year, and new adventures.
For english class we have to do this project basically making a statement and documenting it and seeing how people react. I honestly had no idea what to do, but in the past few hours I have worked up something and put it in place. I think I spent a good 15 minutes just walking around campus trying not to look too obvious, I think that actually made it worse. Here is the end result. Will take a picture tomorrow morning and afternoon and evening, and following in pattern until tuesday morning before class.

 

Obviously it's a bad sewing job, but kinda like it. Will see how people/security takes to it.
